Little Brother experiences Chaos Canyon

Brian's little Brother David came to visit us here in Colorado this weekend. It was his first time seeing the mountains, and his first time hiking at 10,000 ft. above sea level. Brian picked him up from the airport early on Friday morning and brought him up to the park to hike 2 miles up to Chaos Canyon. He was absolutely amazed that he was standing on snow in July.

Dave is the polar opposite of Brian. Very relaxed and chill. We drove around and saw the scenery, ate good dinners, and watched conspiracy theory movies about the Bush administration.

Brian took a few steps backward on Bush Pilot, V11 due to the heat, but a few steps forward on Sunspot, V11, due to new beta. I have two new projects that I am so psyched on it is unbelievable. Right El Jorge, and a somewhat shitter, Sunspot Left. It has a few good moves but the real line on the boulder is Sunspot...I am just not strong enough to do it yet so I have to do the variations.

Brian and I both feel like dying just a little bit after hiking all weekend, but we will recover quickly I am sure. There is nothing like hiking up to the park to climb all day. Nothing really feels quite so satisfying.

hot

It is so hot outside that I find myself sitting inside in the air conditioning doing nothing. My computer makes for a great companion. I just ordered some books off of amazon.

My alone time is about to come to an abrupt hault, because I finally got a job!!! Yeah!!! I start training on Monday. I will be working with 5 adult men with developmental disabilities. By the time I actually get into the training I will be starting school. At least I will be busy. I was comparing myself to Krissy's addict boys who excel under structure and I am the same way. I do far better with structure in my daily life then with none. I need to be kept busy.

My lack of blogging can be made up by reading Krissy's blog. Kris, Jess, and I took some time out of life to be with eachother. It is so important for all three of us to be together. Life is so fun with your best girlfriends. We went up to the park, we consumed mass quantities of food and alcohol, and we did what girls do best...we tried on engagement rings and went dancing. Well, when we went to the store to see the ring Jess picked out it wasn't there and she was almost in tears. She couldn't believe that someone else had bought it. However, the someone else that bought it was her boyfriend, and now fiance! Yes, you heard it here, Jess is engaged. Little independent no cell phone, no car, badass wildland firefighter Jess!

More later I have to brave the heat and run some errands.

nic is sic

Yesterday Brian, Nic and I hiked up to Chaos Canyon to climb on rocks. Nic did Tommy's Arete quickly, while I continue to struggle on it with some sort of mental block. I am just scared that's all. I don't know where my balls went, but I need them back quick or I am never going to send anything. Nic threw himself at Gang Bang, V8, and then came down with a nice little case of altitude sickness. He was rubbing his forehead with his chalky hands so much that his forehead turned bright white, and he pretty much became the butt of all of our jokes...which is pretty uncommon....well not really. Brian worked on the Centaur, v12, and the Automator, V13. Nic flashed the Automator...oh wait that was a dream he had last night in his vicodin induced stupor because he landed flat on his back on a rock yesterday. Shortly after he landed on a pointy rock he got nauscious and stood next to the Centaur with his hands on his knees in a ready position, and we all yelled at him to get away from the boulder problems. We are a loving group of friends. We ventured over to Mikaila, V6, and listened to Jamie tell us some funny stories about bums. He let us know that he has been up to Chaos Canyon over 300 times. That's dedication.

It started to rain and we walked over to Bush Pilot, V11, and Brian worked out the moves while pulling on this killer crimp-nar we all stood around in the rain. I am on a 5 step program to learn how to incorporate sarcasm into my daily language diet.

Today Nic and I hiked all the way up to Chaos only to see a nice storm rolling in. We turned around and hiked right back down. What a good day. Nic and I had a good time singing and punching eachother today. We missed eachother.

Out to dinner we go. Fat Tire in my belly. Brian mowing the dirt.
